About Njagi Safaris
Njagi Safaris is a Uganda Safari Company and a travel brand of Njagi (U) SMC Limited, a Uganda Tourism Board-licensed tour operator specialising in tailor-made and private Uganda Safaris and Rwanda Safaris. We create professionally guided gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, wildlife safaris, birding tours, cultural journeys, honeymoon holidays and luxury travel experiences for travellers seeking authentic East African adventures.
As a Uganda Safari Tour Company, we design journeys that bring together mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, cultural encounters and scenic exploration. Our itineraries reflect individual travel interests, preferred accommodation standards, available time and the pace at which guests wish to discover each destination.
Our approach is rooted in hospitality, practical destination expertise and a commitment to responsible travel. From the first enquiry to the completion of a safari, we aim to provide thoughtful coordination, clear communication and experiences that connect travellers with the natural and cultural heritage of Uganda and Rwanda.
Our Story
Njagi Safaris was developed from a longstanding interest in hospitality, travel and the opportunities that tourism creates for meaningful encounters between visitors, destinations and local communities. Our journey draws on experience in tourism management, business operations and customer service, bringing these disciplines together to establish a company dedicated to personalised safari experiences.
Operating under Njagi (U) SMC Limited, we have continued to develop Njagi Safaris as a specialist Uganda and Rwanda safari company, serving travellers seeking carefully planned journeys rather than standardised travel arrangements. Our understanding of the region informs the way we select destinations, coordinate accommodation, arrange guiding services and design practical safari routes.
Today, our work encompasses private wildlife journeys, primate experiences, birding expeditions, cultural exploration and scenic travel. We continue to strengthen our services through destination research, professional relationships and a commitment to delivering dependable travel experiences that reflect the character of each destination.
Our Vision
To become a trusted East African safari company recognised for personalised travel experiences, professional service, destination expertise and responsible engagement with the region’s wildlife, landscapes and communities.
Our Mission
To design and coordinate memorable private safaris across Uganda and Rwanda through thoughtful itinerary planning, dependable travel arrangements, attentive guest support and responsible tourism practices that respect the destinations and communities we visit.

What We Do
Njagi Safaris provides personalised safari planning and travel coordination for visitors exploring Uganda and Rwanda. Our services bring together destination selection, accommodation, guiding, transport, permits and carefully chosen experiences to create practical itineraries suited to different interests and travel preferences.
As Uganda safari specialists, we support journeys ranging from focused wildlife encounters to extended cross-country itineraries that combine national parks, forests, wetlands, mountains and cultural destinations.
Private & Tailor-Made Safaris
Our private Uganda safaris are designed around individual travel interests, journey duration, preferred accommodation and the experiences guests wish to prioritise. We develop flexible itineraries that can combine several destinations or concentrate on a particular wildlife, nature or cultural interest.
Our approach to tailor-made Uganda safaris and tailor-made Rwanda safaris allows travellers to explore suitable routes, accommodation options and activities while maintaining a practical balance between travel time, comfort and meaningful experiences.
Gorilla Trekking & Primate Experiences
We coordinate gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking experiences in authorised destinations, including Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga Gorilla national parks, Kibale National Park and Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park.
As a gorilla trekking safari operator in Uganda, we assist with permit planning, accommodation selection, transfers and itinerary coordination. Primate encounters can also be combined with wildlife viewing, birdwatching, forest walks and cultural experiences to create more comprehensive journeys.
Wildlife, Birding & Nature Safaris
Our Uganda wildlife safaris introduce travellers to the country’s savannah national parks, tropical forests, wetlands and diverse natural environments. Experiences may include guided game drives, boat safaris, nature walks and specialist birdwatching excursions.
From Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls to Lake Mburo and Kidepo Valley, our itineraries bring together wildlife-rich landscapes and opportunities to observe the region’s remarkable biodiversity. Birding journeys can also incorporate forest specialists, wetland species and other distinctive habitats across Uganda and Rwanda.
Cultural & Community Experiences
Cultural exploration adds an important dimension to our safari experiences. We incorporate suitable visits to historical landmarks, traditional kingdoms, cultural institutions and community-led initiatives that introduce travellers to the region’s diverse heritage.
These experiences encourage respectful engagement with local communities while helping visitors understand the traditions, livelihoods and cultural identities associated with the destinations they explore.
Travel Advice & Guest Support
Our Uganda safari planning services extend beyond itinerary preparation. We provide practical guidance on travel seasons, accommodation, packing considerations, permit requirements, destination access and the activities included in a journey.
Through personalised communication and ongoing coordination, our team helps travellers prepare for their safari and understand the arrangements supporting their experience.
Safari Logistics & Ground Handling
Reliable travel coordination is central to a successful safari. We arrange accommodation reservations, ground transport, transfers, permit planning and other practical services required to support an itinerary.
Working with qualified Uganda safari guides and appropriate service providers, we coordinate travel arrangements that reflect destination conditions, journey requirements and the experiences included in each safari programme.

How We Plan Your Safari
Our approach to safari planning begins with understanding each traveller’s interests and expectations. We recognise that guests have different priorities, from mountain gorilla encounters and wildlife photography to birdwatching, cultural exploration, relaxation and scenic travel.
Rather than relying exclusively on fixed itineraries, we consider the practical requirements of each journey and develop arrangements that reflect the destinations, experiences and accommodation standards requested.
Understanding Your Travel Interests
We begin by discussing preferred destinations, travel dates, journey duration, wildlife interests and accommodation expectations. This helps us identify suitable experiences and develop an itinerary that reflects the traveller’s priorities. For guests considering Uganda and Rwanda private safaris, we also explore opportunities to combine destinations across both countries while accounting for travel distances, border arrangements and available time.
Designing Your Safari Itinerary
Our itinerary development process brings together destination selection, accommodation, activities, travel routes and practical scheduling. We consider seasonal conditions, permit availability, travel distances and the pace of each journey to create an itinerary that balances exploration with appropriate time at individual destinations.
Coordinating Your Journey
Once an itinerary is agreed upon, we coordinate the included travel arrangements, such as accommodation reservations, transfers, guiding services, permits and scheduled experiences. Our objective is to ensure that the different elements of the safari are appropriately organised and clearly communicated before travel begins.
Supporting You During Your Safari
During the journey, we remain available for relevant operational coordination and guest assistance. We communicate with guides, accommodation providers and other service partners as necessary to support the agreed itinerary and address practical travel requirements.
This approach reflects our commitment to attentive service and the personalised experiences expected from dedicated Uganda safari experts.

Conservation & Responsible Travel
Uganda and Rwanda are home to internationally significant wildlife habitats, including tropical rainforests, savannah ecosystems, wetlands and mountain landscapes. These environments support endangered primates, large mammals, diverse birdlife and communities whose livelihoods are closely connected to the surrounding natural resources.
Our approach to responsible safari tourism in Uganda and Rwanda emphasises respect for protected-area regulations, appropriate wildlife-viewing practices and considerate engagement with local communities. We encourage travellers to follow the guidance of park authorities and professional guides, particularly during sensitive wildlife encounters.
We also recognise the value of community-based tourism, locally delivered services and travel experiences that respect cultural heritage. By incorporating appropriate community encounters and working with suitable service providers, we aim to support responsible interactions between visitors and host destinations.
Travellers can consult the Uganda Wildlife Authority and Rwanda Development Board for official guidance on protected areas, wildlife conservation and visitor regulations.
Licensing, Verification & Industry Connection
Professional accountability and transparent company information are important considerations when selecting a safari operator. Njagi Safaris operates through its registered Ugandan business entity and maintains tourism licensing relevant to its operations.
We recognise that international travellers, travel advisors and safari partners need confidence in the organisations responsible for planning and coordinating their journeys.
Our Legal Status & Licensing
Njagi Safaris is the trading brand of Njagi (U) SMC Limited, a company registered in Uganda.
As a licensed Uganda tour operator, the company holds a tourism operating licence issued by the Uganda Tourism Board. This licensing provides an important basis for professional accountability and regulatory compliance within Uganda’s tourism sector.
UTB Licence No.: UTB/RTT/TO/2026/102546
